As we approach the season of Advent, we will be organising, hosting, and supporting many special events for students, their families and the wider Widnes community.
Advent is a time of preparation and generosity, and this year, as always, our school will come together in faith to mark this very special period.
Take a look here at what's going on in school this Advent:

Reverse Advent Calendar | Launching Monday 24 November
On Monday 24 November, we will be launching our Reverse Advent Calendar campaign.
We are inviting our school community to bring in non-perishable food items, hygiene products, and other essentials to be distributed to Widnes Foodbank to help those in need in our community during the run-up to Christmas.
In line with our Catholic Social Teaching theme of 'Option for the Poor' this half term, we will demonstrate our Christian commitment to generosity and love for our neighbours.
We encourage every student to contribute what they can, with prizes going to the formation groups with the most donations and the best dressed hamper, and everyone who donates an item will be entered into a draw to win a special £5 Amazon voucher.

Senior Citizen Party | Thursday 28 November
On Thursday 28 November, our beloved Senior Citizen Party returns. This annual event brings together local older residents for an afternoon of festive cheer, food, and entertainment, all hosted by our students.
It’s a wonderful way for our school and students to give back to the community.
Tickets are available now
Please share this information with friends, neighbours, or family members who may wish to attend.
Everyone is welcome, and your attendance will help make the event truly special.
Community Advent & Carol Service | Wednesday 3 December
We warmly invite parents, students, staff, and local community members to our Community Advent & Carol Service on Wednesday 3 December, 6-7pm here at school.
This will be a beautiful evening of prayer and carols, offering us a chance gather together to reflect on the meaning of Advent.
Our school choir and musicians will lead the singing, and there will be readings from both staff and students.
It’s a highlight of our Advent journey and a lovely way to come together in worship.
Christmas Jumper Day | Friday 12 December
On Friday 12 December, students (and staff!) are invited to wear their Christmas jumpers to school.
As well as having a fun festive day in school we'll also be fundraising for Cash for Kids, collecting voluntary donations through Parent Pay.
Students must continue to wear full school uniform, and should just wear a jumper over the top instead.
SPARE JUMPERS NEEDING A NEW HOME?
To help us enjoy a 'green' Christmas and keep costs down, drop off your old Christmas jumpers in the donation bin outside our school reception to help us stock our Christmas Jumper Bank.
If you know of a student who would like to take part in fundraising, but doesn't have a jumper, head to Student Services to take your pick from our preloved jumper selection.
Xanadu School Production – 16 to 18 December
Our Expressive Arts department will present Xanadu from Monday 16 to Wednesday 18 December.
These performances promise to be an absolute highlight of the term, full of music, dance, and the extraordinary talents of our expressive arts students.
We encourage families, friends, and the wider community to come and support our talented cast and crew for a joyful way to end the school year.
End of Term | Friday 19 December at 12pm
Finally, a reminder that term will finish on Friday 19 December.
Students will be dismissed at 12 pm for the Christmas holiday.
We pray that everyone enjoys a restful and peaceful Christmas and we look forward to welcoming you back in the New Year, on Monday 5th January 2026.
