We are incredibly proud of our feeder school, St Gerard’s Catholic Primary & Nursery, for achieving such impressive outcomes under the new, much tougher Ofsted framework.
Several areas were judged “Strong Standard”, a level broadly comparable to the old “Outstanding” grade under the previous framework.

This is a remarkable achievement, especially as Ofsted has raised the bar nationally, moving from a “best fit” to a far more demanding “secure fit” model.
Highlights from the report:
Pupils achieve above national averages in reading, writing and maths.
Behaviour and attitudes are exceptional: calm, respectful and highly focused.
A rich, ambitious curriculum with high‑quality teaching across subjects.
A deeply inclusive culture, where disadvantaged pupils and those with SEND thrive.
Strong safeguarding, leadership and personal development provision.

Under this new framework, achieving “Expected” is something to celebrate, so St Gerard’s multiple Strong Standard judgements truly demonstrate excellence.
Huge congratulations to the staff, pupils and community of St Gerard’s!
Your hard work and care shine through every part of the report.
