For weeks, our choirs and instrumentalists have been hard at work preparing for one of the most eagerly anticipated highlights of our school calendar, this year’s spectacular 'Back to the 80s' Spring Concert.
Joined by some of the most talented primary school singers across Halton, the excitement has been building for months.
All that dedication truly paid off, as our performers wowed audiences of students, families, governors and staff across three sold-out evenings this March. From the first note to the final encore, the energy, colour and nostalgia of the 80s came alive on stage.
This year’s theme celebrated some of the decade’s most iconic hits, featuring crowd favourites from legendary artists such as Madonna, The Pet Shop Boys, Erasure and Cyndi Lauper. Audiences were treated to unforgettable performances of classics like Time After Time, I Wanna Dance with Somebody, and Don't Stop Believing, alongside plenty of surprises.
Pupils delighted the crowd with creative costume changes, bold neon outfits, and fun prop reveals that truly captured the spirit of the era.
Alongside the fantastic performances from our younger singers, the evening also showcased a wide range of musical talent across the school. Highlights included special arrangements from the Saints Peter and Paul singers, our guitar group, the British Sign Language Club, and the ever-popular Samba band—each bringing their own unique energy to the stage.
Mrs Saunders said, “The Spring Concert is always such a highlight of the school year for us, and this year we’ve had so many messages from students, families and the wider community saying it was our best one yet!
Our partners at Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, St Gerard’s, St John Fisher, St Michael’s, Holy Family and St Basil’s Catholic Primary Schools, along with Moorfield and Ditton Primaries, St Bede’s RC Junior School and Widnes Academy, give so much to this event every year. We are incredibly grateful as we simply couldn’t do it without them.
The connection between our primary and secondary schools is something truly special, and events like this show just how powerful that partnership can be. We’re already looking forward to planning next year’s concerts… after a well-earned rest!”

One Year 4 parent said this morning how it was great seeing your Year 11 students joining in and that your school clearly develops character and wider skills as well as their academics. - Mrs Rooney, Holy Family Catholic Primary School
