Saints Peter and Paul Catholic High School Celebrates the Return of Senior Citizens’ Christmas Party
Saints Peter and Paul Catholic High School proudly welcomed more than 120 guests to its first Senior Citizens’ Christmas Party since 2019, marking the return of one of the school’s most beloved community traditions.

The event, held on Friday afternoon, was filled with festive cheer as guests enjoyed live entertainment from talented students across the school.

Year 7 soloist Evelyn Eyo opened the celebration with a beautiful performance, followed by the school choir and instrumentalists who performed a host of Christmas favourites.

The afternoon continued with bingo, quizzes, games, and a selection of prizes, all organised to bring the local community together in a spirit of celebration and connection as the Avent season approaches.
Mrs Scott, Principal of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic High School, said,
“Our Senior Citizens’ Christmas Party is a wonderful reminder of the important role our school plays in the wider community. It gives our students the chance to share their gifts, grow in confidence, and learn the true value of service in line with our Catholic values. Seeing our young people come together to create such a special afternoon for our guests is something we are incredibly proud of.”
The event was coordinated by Mrs Saunders, Head of Music, who said:
“We are absolutely delighted to see this event return as part of the expressive arts calendar of events. The students have worked so hard in rehearsing and supporting at every point of this celebration. Their enthusiasm and dedication have shone throughout, and I want to thank each and every one of them and our team of staff for helping to make today so memorable.”

Students also shared their excitement about taking part. Year 7 pupil Noah Glover said,
“It's the first time I've done anything like this. I didn't really know what to expect, but I'm having lots of fun and I'm helping this lady with marking her bingo ticket.”
Barbara, a visitor from Widnes, commented,
“I used to come to this event before the pandemic and I'm so glad it's back. We’ve had such a warm welcome. The students have been tremendous and couldn't be any more attentive. I think what's struck me this year is how confident and polite they've all been. Such a credit to the school and their families. I'm already looking forward to next year's party.”
Guest Mrs Spencer said, "It was a wonderful afternoon and I could see how hard everyone had worked and of course the children were just amazing. Congratulations to them for their singing and smiling help wherever needed."
The school extends heartfelt appreciation to all who attended and contributed to this year’s celebration.
